Paper Presentation at the 3rd ICMAL 2024 x LIID 2024 and IA Signing with Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia
It was an honor for me to be the only presenter from Indonesia to present my research paper entitled “A trace of critical thinking and literary writing skills: An assessment of Open University students in their designated inquiry project” at the 3rd International Conference on Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics (ICMAL) 2024. This event is held alongside poster presentations at the 5th Language Invention, Innovation, and Design Exposition (LIID) 2024 at Fraser Place Puteri Harbour, Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
The speakers included Azirah Hashim, Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. She is President of the International Association of Applied Linguistics (AILA) from 2021 to 2024 and the Founding President of the Malaysian Association of Applied Linguistics. Other notable speakers were Prof. Udan Kusmawan, a senior academic at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Terbuka, and Airil Haimi Mohd Adnan, an active public academic and research scholar in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
Alongside the event, my delegation from the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, Universitas Terbuka, which included the Dean, Vice Dean of Student Affairs and Partnership, and Head of the Educational Technology Department, had a meeting with the Dean of Akademi Pengajian Bahasa, Universiti Teknologi MARA. We discussed potential future collaborations and signed our Implementation Arrangements, as keynote speaker, presenter, and visiting lecturer activities have already been implemented.
We are looking forward to welcoming delegations from UiTM to UT next September!
